Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! What better way to express your LOVE for the season than by making festive cookies...
I love baking in general, so when I came across a few neat images on Pinterest for Valentine's Conversation Heart cookies I had to try them out.
Here are a few tips you can use if you try making these cute cookies for your sweetheart!
Use a simple recipe: I used a quick store bought Betty Crocker mix. It's quick, super easy and tastes great.
For well shaped cookies: freeze the dough for 30 minutes before cutting your shapes. This will allow your cookies to hold the shape after being baked.
Ice-Ice Baby tips: Use a royal icing made with Waltons meringue powder and powdered sugar. It dries like a charm and is perfect for decorating. I used an assortment of food coloring and divided my royal icing for decorating. When decorating, be sure to use piping bags as it makes drawing and decorating your cookies as easy as 1-2-3.
